Gold Coast developer Lacey Group has completed construction of its latest project, the $65 million The Del Ray Kirra Beach, with the family-owned company paying special tribute to a local property industry figure, the late Matthew Schneider, who helped get the project over the line.

The Del Ray Kirra Beach is the fourth project completed by Lacey Group, a company with a history of more than 30 years in the Gold Coast property industry and the Surf Lifesaving community.

It comes just six months after Lacey Group wrapped up construction of the $36 million The Monroe at Palm Beach.

Like The Monroe, the Del Ray Kirra Beach was sold out well before construction was completed.

The Del Ray has delivered a collection of 72 luxury apartments and townhouses that capture the essence of Kirra’s coastal lifestyle through a collection of apartments in two-bedroom, two-bathroom and three-bedroom, two-bathroom layouts over 14 levels.

The Del Ray also has an exclusive release of three-bedroom, two-bathroom townhouses for buyers seeking the ultimate in spacious apartment style living.

Apartments take advantage of panoramic ocean views and signature Lacey Group lifestyle amenities, including indoor and outdoor rooftop recreation spaces, barbecue facilities and a statement infinity pool.

“We’re thrilled to be finalising our fourth project in the past seven years and to have created a superbly crafted collection of residences in such a beautiful part of the Gold Coast,” said Adam Lacey, Managing Director of the Lacey Group.

“The Del Ray is a landmark development for our company and its completion is deeply personal for me and my family so it’s fitting that through this project we acknowledge Matt’s enduring friendship and professional support over many years.

“Matt assisted us with many projects in the past and we are forever grateful for the pre-development advice he provided for The Del Ray.

“Matt will always be remembered as a consummate professional with a passion for the Gold Coast and as a father and husband who loved his family more than anything.”

Mr Schneider, a Gold Coast director of planning consultancy Urbis, tragically passed away last year after succumbing to bowel cancer.

Lacey Group is dedicating a plaque to Mr Schneider at The Del Ray Kirra Beach, maintaining a family tradition where Mr Lacey has honoured each of his children in the last three developments by the company.

The Lacey name has a proud history on the Gold Coast, with the foundations laid by Mr Lacey’s father Peter, a property industry and Surf Lifesaving stalwart who died unexpectedly from a heart attack in 1997. A bronze statue of Peter Lacey currently graces the Surfers Paradise foreshore recognising his contribution to the city over many years.

Construction of The Del Ray Kirra Beach began in January 2022 and was completed on schedule by Hutchinson Builders.

Lacey Group is currently settling apartment contracts for the project with the first residents already starting to move in.
